Cindy's Let Them Eat Cake

My wedding cake actually made me cry, that’s how beautiful it was! I had researched local cake decorators and knew that Cindy was the go-to girl for fondant cakes… she was also recommended by our venue. We had such a fun time meeting with Cindy, picking flavors and sketching out the design of the cake was one of the most enjoyable parts of our planning. During the entire process I felt very confident that Cindy understood what I was looking for and she was very helpful with other details as well. We had fun with her! When I got to see the finished cake for the first time I was actually choked-up! It was even more beautiful than I had imagined it would be… my vision, but better because it had Cindy’s special touch. The cake itself was delicious! Our favorite was the pistachio but we loved them all, as did our guests. I know most people had more than one piece just so they could try the different flavors! I will probably be thinking of a good excuse to order another cake from her in the future! Thank you Cindy!

This woman is absolutely the best! From day one, she adds her personal touch and treats you like family and always acts as a professional. She worked with me on every level and the cake was perfect! I can't tell you how big of a hit her hard work was; other than my family and photographers are still talking about it 3 months later, quoting "She should be on Cake Boss"! If you are looking for Sincerity, detail, unique, with the added breathtaking taste, this is the woman you have to go with for your once in a lifetime day.

While Cindy makes beautiful cakes that taste amazing. Beware that she has the right date for your wedding and you get a written contract. The only reason my cake arrived at my reception was because the banquet manager noticed that it was not set up and called her to see where she was. I had always wrote the day of our wedding and our names on my checks when I made payments on the cake. I also called to confirm the wedding day with her 2 weeks prior and she verbally said she would be there. At the very least I would have hoped for an apology, if not a discount on the service.

Cindy did a gorgeous job with our cake! She has had years of experience which enabled her to recommend everything from the right size and shape to the colors and decorations that most reflected us a couple. Cindy loves what she does – which is really evident in the quality of her cakes and the great experience we had with her. Creating a cake with Cindy was one of the funnest parts of wedding planning. Our cake really stood out at our reception because it was really beautiful and delicious – we could not have asked for a more classy cake!

This review is somewhat overdue - but as I look back at my wedding photos, our cake was nothing short of simply FABULOUS and I had to write something about it. Our wedding as a whole was outstanding from start to finish, but I must say that the 1 thing that received the most compliments was our "Cindy's Let Them Eat Cake' masterpiece! The planning for it was on time and to the point. Cindy worked with us to take what was in our brains and create exactly that in our cake. Her pricing was spelled out and reasonable. She even ended up adding an extra layer to our cake...just because! Our cake stayed put well into our reception, b/c it took every speck of my being to cut into the thing...I wanted to keep it as it was. Ended up being delicious - even a year later - we were able to cut into our top and enjoy it as a dessert for our 1 year anniversary dinner celebration. Yum. Yum. Yum. Thank you Cindy!We enjoyed working with Cindy so much - that when the next 'big step' in our life happens - I will insist on a Cindy baby shower cake!Also to note - I work for a non-profit - Cindy has graciously agreed to be our presenting dessert sponsor (fully donated cake for 200+ people) for a Mardi Gras themed fundraiser we have coming up in March. I am super excited to see what she comes up with!!

Cindy did my wedding cake in June of 2010. The cake she made for me was beautiful, I will not deny her that. However, the only thing she cares about is making a buck. When I met her at a bridal show, she immediately told me I had to give her $250 if I wanted her to make my cake, because she was filling up quickly and could not guarantee that she would be available. I knew I wanted to use her because her cakes are beautiful, and there are not many other vendors around Warren, PA. I gave her the money and she told me she would be in touch. She never called me, I then decided to call her 2 months later in March to set up a date to meet. We went to her home, where she makes her cakes. We chose what we wanted a five tier cake. When I asked her how much it would be she said she did not know for sure, and would not even give me an estimate. After already paying $250 that she cashed immediately, we were kind of stuck. I then called her in May to find out the price, and she said she would mail it to me. Three weeks before my wedding she sent me an invoice for $1300. There was no contract, just an invoice. It did not even state what we were paying for. I immediately called her and told her I wanted a contract, that I was not comfortable sending her the remaining money, without a contract. She replied with. "I don't do contracts." Now what type of business does not write contracts? Again, it now being three weeks before my wedding there was not much I could do. She then called me one week before the wedding to tell me if she could make an all fake cake she would take off $100, and would make sheet cakes to serve. I did NOT want any sheet cakes. If I'm going to pay $1300 for a cake I want it to be REAL! I told her no, and that was that. The day of my wedding she brought my cake. It was beautiful I have to admit. However, I found out that she decided to make the bottom two layers fake and brought four 9 by 12 sheet cakes, after I told her that was not what I wanted. Needless to say my husband and I never got a piece of cake, other than when we first cut it. We had around 250 guests and we ran out of cake. She promised there would be enough for the next day luncheon, when I called her two days after the wedding she said it was the hotel's fault they must have thrown it away. Then told me to tell them to pay her to make me another cake. I was furious. To top it all off she had the nerve to call me 4 times while my husband and I were on our honeymoon in Hawaii, granted there are 6 hours difference, so she called in the middle of the night on a couple of occasions. The reason for calling was to get her 2 FAKE LAYERS BACK, AFTER SHE WASN'T SUPPOSE TO USE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! We did not return them, and she said she told us we had to, I guess that's why she should write contracts. Just beware if you use her, she will not write you a contact, will not give you an estimate, charges a delivery fee on top of the price (which you won't find out until you receive your invoice three weeks before the wedding), and will do whatever she wants to accommodate herself, not you, she has no price list and will make up prices as she sees fit.

Cindy did an amazing job on our cake! It looked great. We had started off with a very non-traditional cake that would have been amazing but she was fine when I told her I wanted a more traditional cake too! The cake was delicious and the price was a little more than what we wanted to pay, but it was worth it!

The cake that Cindy made was awesome, beautiful and delicious. The cake went perfectly with everything at my wedding and everyone really liked it. Also Cindy herself was a huge help to me while I was planning the wedding. She knows so many people and can point you in the right direction when you need help.

For choosing wedding cake, first criteria would be the taste, and next is the design.Cindys made both of them excellent and satisfying to us. We got so many compliments from our friends and guests after tasting the cakes. They shipped the items more promptly than we expected. They were responsive and accomadating in anwering our calls.

Cindy's work is amazing!! I felt really comfortable from start to finish. She has great quality photos of previous work to get the creative juices flowing. She was really great at helping to design a cake perfect for us. She is very experienced in what designs, themes, and accessories work well together. She also helped me think of all the other details (like the color of the table cloth, where the table should be, etc) to really make a stunning display. The quality of the work is the best I've worked with! My husband and I really enjoyed the high quality cake at our reception. We heard many positive comments all through the evening about the beauty of the cake as well as the taste!

Cindy's work is amazing! After taking a look at her site and seeing all the beautiful cakes she has done in the past, I knew I couldn't go anywhere else. She is very professional and a lot of fun to work with! Cindy is totally open to any ideas you may have for your cake and she is willing to try just about anything. In the past she has done my Bridal Shower cake, Wedding cake as well as a Birthday cake for me. All of which were beyond my expectations and simply the most delicious cake I've ever tasted :) She has many different flavors to choose from, from cake to filling, icing and fondant. There is no doubt you will find your dream cake! We went with the White Wedding and Red Velvet cake, filled with the Famous Raspberry filling. It was perfect! We also did a separate sheet cake of the Spice Cake with the Pumpkin Cream Cheese filling(my husband's favorite :) To Die For!! Cindy was very clear on prices and prompt with delivery and set-up. My experience with her was fantastic. I look foreward to working with her again in the future!! :)

My husband and I were so thrilled with the wedding cake that Cindy created for us. Not only was it a beautiful piece of artwork, but it was delicious as well! It was one of the highlights of our wedding.Cindy is a joy to work with - passionate about what she does with great creative flair and a killer selection of cake flavors. She has some unique designs that you can tailor to your own colors, etc., or she can help work with you to come up with something completely different. I would highly recommend Cindy.

Cindy was great! She made exactly the cake we wanted, wasn't afraid to brainstorm ideas with us, seemed to be excited about our ideas, and provided the cake at a little more than half the price of her nearest comparable competitor (specializing in fondant iced cakes).
